Citizen Charter
1. Citizens' Charter of Cotton Development Board
Cotton Development Board is committed to helping farmers to produce cotton and making continuous efforts to generate and transfer improved technologies for cotton production and supply of quality seed and other inputs to the farmers. To achieve this the Major Activities performed by the Cotton Development Board are as follows:
1.1. To develop improved cotton varieties and generate modern
production technologies through research activities;
1.2. To motivate farmers to grow cotton and transfer modern production
technologies for increasing per unit production of cotton through
extension work;
1.3. To organize training programs for the cotton farmers and Officers/staff
of CDB;
1.4.To establish demonstration plots to transfer modern cotton cultivation technologies.
1.5.To produce breeder seed and foundation seed at the farms of CDB;
1.6. To produce certified standard/quality cotton seed through contract/enlisted farmers;
1.7. To ensure supply of quality cotton seed;
1.8. To arrange other inputs and credits for the cotton farmers; and
1.9. To render assistance in the marketing of seed cotton at growers' level;
2. Services to the Citizen/Stakeholders
2.1. Arrangement of training for dissemination of technologies developed by the
CDB to the Farmers, Field Officers & Staff, Researchers & Research
Assistant, Private Entrepreneurs & Organizations;
2.2. Provide technical support to the farmers on Insect pest & disease control,
use of balanced fertilizer, Intercropping, Cropping pattern etc. for the
increase of Cotton production;
2.3. Implementation of Farmers Rally, Field day, group meeting and
demonstration to create awareness and motivate farmers on cotton
cultivation and use of modern technologies of cotton production; 2.4. Ensure proper use of modern technologies and extension of cotton
cultivation through farm visit and advise the farmers;
2.5. Ensure supply of quality cotton seeds, different agricultural inputs and
credit to the farmers;
2.6. Provide technical assistance to the entrepreneurs and public & private
sector organizations for the research and marketing of high yielding, Short
duration & modern, Insect pest & disease tolerant variety of cotton;
2.7. Provide necessary assistance to the cotton growers for the marketing of
seed cotton and purchase of certified standard/quality seed cotton from the
contact growers/selected cotton farmers; and
2.8. Any other advice related to the cotton production and reeasrch.

5.Grievances Redressal
5.1 Deputy Director (H.Q), Cotton Development Board, Khamarbari, Dhaka wis functioning as focal point and will ensure expeditious redressal of grievances.
5.2 Every Wednesday from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, members of the public can meet Deputy Director (H.Q), Cotton Development Board seeking redressal of the grievances and complaints.
5.3 Complaints from officers/staff of Cotton Development can be sent to the focal point through proper channel and
